ediscio goes english

I am happy to announce that ediscio.com is now online! The most feature-rich online flashcard is now available in english, as well. So, what does ediscio contribute to online learning?

  • feature-rich flash cards: You can edit flash cards in many ways, from the obvious character formatting to inserting tables, LaTeX-formulas, images, and YouTube-videos. Every flash card is taggable and can additionaly be sorted into categories, and of course discussed about.
  • intuitive learning statistics: You get a visualization of your progress, and you can find the areas in which you have the highest learning needs by a tag cloud! The size of words in that clouds depends from how often you knew the answer of that card, or not. The less you knew an answer related to that tat, the larger the word grows!
  • easy collaboration: ediscio provides a lot of features to make collaboration easy. You have a version history for each flash card, a news system (incl. RSS) which informs you about what’s going on in your cardboxes, an automatic expert-finder (which tells you of your friends can most probably help you with specific topics), and basic social network functionality like making friends (“chumming up”), sending mails and so on.
  • a learning scheduler: According to the leitner system, flash cards are sorted into a scheduling system. If you didn’t know an answer, you have to learn the card again tomorrow; if you knew it, then again in 2, 4, 8, …days. These day-steps are configurable!

And there is still more to come. Many details of the site have been developed after suggestion of the users – and obvious way to build what the users need. Here’s the presentation from the title:

So, just try it out! I would be happy to meet you on ediscio.com. :-)

Unfortunately, Ediscio doesn’t accept Polish or Esperanto characters with diacritical signs.

This looks gfeat. I think I will try this with my students who are 10 years old. Can this program accept accented letter and the tilde in Spanish?

Yes, the spanish letters work! I would be very pleased if you can give me a short feedback about how your students like working with ediscio.
